Get on H-1 West and take exit 21B onto the PALI Highway (Highway 61). The PALI Highway will take you over the mountains in the middle of the island and down the other side into Kailua. After the tunnels at the top of the mountains, turn RIGHT at the 5th traffic light -- onto HAMAKUA Drive. Then turn LEFT at the 1st traffic light onto HAHANI Street. Now look on the RIGHT side for our kayak display. Turn RIGHT into this parking lot and we are on the far left side of the lot.
Turn RIGHT out of the parking lot and keep going until you pass through the country town of Waimanalo. After Waimanalo on the divided highway, make a RIGHT at the 1 st traffic light -- onto KEOLU Drive. Go LEFT at the first light -- onto KEOLU Drive as well -- it is OK, it is a circle. Go LEFT at the first light -- onto HAMAKUA Drive. Go Right at the first light -- onto HAHANI Street. Now look on the RIGHT side for our kayak display. Turn RIGHT into this parking lot and we are on the far left side of the lot.
Take the Kailua exit, then go RIGHT at the 2nd -- onto ONEAWA Street. Go to the 5th traffic light and make a RIGHT at the Starbucks -- onto HAHANI Street. We are on the LEFT side in the big parking lot immediately after the Post Office. We are on the far left side of the parking lot.
Look for a Bus stop located nearest to you at your hotel the day prior to your kayaking day. Take any Bus from Waikiki heading to Ala Moana Shopping Center by 7:30 AM. It costs $1.50 and remember to ask for a transfer ticket. STAY PUT. At the Ala Moana stop and between 8:00 and 8:05 AM you will board Bus #57 or the #57A to Keolu/Kailua. It is approximately 40 minutes of scenery. If you take the #57, you need to tell the bus driver you want to get off at the corner of KAILUA Road and HAHANI Street. Cross HAHANI Street. at the signal, turn right, and we are in the large parking lot on the LEFT just after the Post Office. We are on the far left side of the lot. If you take the #57A, you need to tell the bus driver you want to get off on HAHANI Street. Look for the large parking lot across the street once you get off and walk on over!
