Race the ski the Pro’s paddle! The TWOGOOD MAKO PRO has been paddled to
1st place finishes in the 2004 Molokai World Championships, and
2003 AND 2004 U.S. National Championships by Greg Barton and Herman Chalupsky.
The TWOGOOD MAKO PRO was also raced to victory by Oscar Chalupsky in the Molokai
Worlds for many years. When winning counts, they choose TWOGOOD MAKO PRO’S, shouldn’t you?
Twogood Kayaks’ MAKO PRO is the next step in the evolution of the MAKO shape.
As good as our MAKO was, it could still be improved upon, and that’s what we
did with the MAKO PRO. By changing several design aspects, we’ve improved the
flat-water speed, glide, and surfing ability over every other ski on the market.
So if you want the ultimate racing surf-ski, try all the other’s, then try our
MAKO PRO and we’re sure you’ll feel the improved performance over other boats of
similar design. Also, remember that weight plays an important role in kayak speed,
so if you want the best combination of speed, and strength with light weight, choose
a TWOGOOD MAKO PRO, like the pro’s do.
This boat is the first design to dis-prove the theory that you need different boats to
win on flat water and rough water. Our MAKO and MAKO PRO have demolished the other
"rough water" designs on rough water, and destroyed the other "flat water" designs
on flat water. The MAKO PRO has eliminated the need for separate boats for different
conditions. The MAKO PRO’s fine entry flaring slowly to a shallow arch cross section,
combined with just the right amount of rocker in the proper location, and proper balance
of the paddler’s weight, and distribution of above water-line volume, allows it to surf
like a king and out-run any other surf-ski on flat water. When you combine this with
our Aero-space production methods which produces extremely light weight but strong boats,
you have a winning combination that no-one beats.
The Mako’s unique design allows for extreme flat water speed, superb rough water
performance, and stability for the racer with average balancing skills. The extremely
fine entry is carried back and up much further than on other skis. This allows the
bow to pierce waves and continue through them with little resistance whether going
with or against them. With all these qualities we consider it the best racing ski
on the market.
Caution!!! When shopping for a racing ski and boat weight is important to you, if the
builder or sales rep will not commit to supplying a boat of a specific weight, you
can be confident it will be heavier than their "about XX lbs." comment. Use your
bathroom scale to test this.
